Labrador Violet is a delightful plant with an abundant display of sweetly scented blooms. The evergreen, deep green foliage has a matching violet blush on emergence, and the plants grows to form dense mats. Such an easy choice for shade, pots, hanging baskets, narrow spaces and more.
The flowers are divine picked for a tussy mussy so you can enjoy the sweet perfume indoors.
Labrador Violet blooms begin spring and last right through to summer. Dead head the flowers regularly to help sustain the plant.
Plant Labrador Violet in a part shade position in humus rich, moist, well drained soil. It will tolerate more sun in cool climes, but you have to keep the moisture up to it. It will not tolerate humidity. Protect your plants from slugs and snails, especially whilst young. It is suitable for growing in containers and hanging baskets. It will set seed at a snails pace so there will be more to enjoy, but it won’t become a burden.
