Great for picking.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Glorious, golden flowers with a prominent orange cone.
A dazzling collection of vibrant colour for a long lasting summer show.
Echinacea ‘Sombrero’ are compact, upright, well branched and floriferous. They are dry hardy once established and will bring you years of joy. They are vegetatively propagated so are economical and will be true to type. They are very hardy and reliable.
Cutting blooms and deadheading will help to promote more flowers – plus they look great in vases. Each bloom is around 7cm across.
If you allow the late flowers to stand, the seed pods will remain decorative right to the end, providing autumn and even winter interest. Then just cut them back in early spring to allow the new growth to shine.
Best grown in a sunny spot, they prosper in a well drained soil that is moderately fertile to humus rich. Water to establish, it will take the plants roots around four weeks to penetrate the surrounding soil and they need regular watering until then. Once established they only need to be watered if rainfall is low. Echinacea become dry tolerant as they establish.
