A divine, adaptable landscape plant with fragrant foliage and erect stems of fine, blue flowers that open for around four months. Then a midsummer trim can extend the season into autumn.
Sensational in mass plantings, as a low, informal hedge, as part of a border, in cottage gardens, rockeries and compact enough for containers.
Grow Salvia ‘Blue Hills’ in a sunny location in well drained soil. Salvias are dry tolerant once established and look wonderful in beds, borders or dry gardens. They have a vigorous growth and are easy care.
Dead head spent flowers on Salvias, after the first flush to encourage re-bloom. Then once the flowering has finished you can cut it right back in winter to allow for the fresh new growth in spring time.
