Dahlia Dahlegria 'Pink Halo'
New in 2024.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.
A super star with midnight foliage and bright pink blooms with a magenta halo.
With new breeding out of Europe, these Dahlias offer breakthrough colour and the versatility of being grown in gardens or containers. The big, single blooms in bold colours make the most of the ebony foliage which is part of what makes these Dahlegria Dahlias so special. They also have top notch mildew resistance and real flower power.
Plant Dahlias into moist, humus rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot, they need at least six hours to flower well and will flourish with plenty of light.
Dahlias have big blooms for a long period so fertiliser is important, a tomato fertiliser is a good choice. The addition of Sulphate of Potash, will encourage strong blooms and general plant health.
Remove spent flowers to keep the plants looking good and encourage more blooms. The flowers will last well in a vase.
If you choose to grow your Dahlias in pots, it is ideal to use a good quality potting mix and ensure there is adequate drainage holes. In pots you will need to water well once they are up and growing, if they dry out they will sulk and you won't get a good display. You will also need to add fertiliser regularly to the container, as per the directions on the pack. Dahlias grow quickly and flower with gusto so need the nutrition to back this up.
