A heritage variety with great flavour. Fruiting late in the season, with fruit on first year canes (Primocane). Rounded, deep red berries delicious for picking. It has been in cultivation since 1860 so stood the test of time.
The taste of Raspberries picked fresh from the bush is amazing. If you have only eaten the berries from supermarkets, you are sure to be astounded. This Raspberry produces medium, sweet fruit in summer, with a second, smaller crop in autumn. The berries have a rich, full flavour.
Raspberries grow well in cool climates and are pretty easy care and the plants produce reliably for many years.
Plant Raspberries in full sun. A humus rich, well drained soil is ideal. Space 150-180cm apart. Plant the cane quite shallow, around 10cm deep. Water in and keep moist when in flower and fruit. Add some mulch to help with water retention and weed reduction.
