Water wise, low growing, heavy flowering, frost tolerant, sun loving, evergreen ground covers for edging, rockeries, slopes, beds, coastal gardens, xeriscapes and more! Seeks laidback gardener looking to enjoy their garden and not have to worry about a thing!

From spring the grey green foliage is covered in dainty white blooms with a golden boss of stamens. The blooms are 3.5cm across and last just a day, with a succession of them over the months.
Hailing from the Mediterranean coastlines, Sage Leafed Rock Rose copes well with hot and sunny dry conditions. It needs a well drained soil and that is about it! Beneficial insects, especially bees love their prolific blooms. It will gradually sprawl but won’t run away.
Plant in a sunny location in moderately fertile well drained soil. Water to establish, it takes plants around four to six weeks of regular watering until their roots penetrate the surrounding soil, they are self sufficient. They should not be allowed to sit in water or their roots tend to rot. No need to fertilise, this can cause leggy growth.
Cistus savliifolius has now been reclassified to Salvia cistus. Common names include White Rock Rose, Sage Leaved Rock Rose, Gallipoli Rose and Sage Leaf Rock Rose.
