South African Geranium
A garden champ.
In stock

Whilst this Geranium might looks pretty and petite there is nothing delicate about it. A native to South Africa, it is tough, hardy and handles dry conditions without any trouble.
The evergreen foliage is an attractive grey green colour with rounded hairy leaves. Pelargonium reniforme flowers from spring right through to winter, bearing dozens of magenta moth shaped flowers above the foliage. In warmer climates it can flower year round.
Well suited to coastal conditions it is wind tolerant too.
Plant in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. Best in a sunny position it is also frost hardy. Water to establish, it takes plants 4-6 wks of regular watering for their roots to penetrate the surrounding soil and access its moisture and nutrients.
