The romance of Ranunculus is perfectly encapsulated in this charming colour blend. You can’t help but love their spring time feeling.
The soft pinks, deeper pinks, rich burgundy’s and the pristine white flowers look superb planted together. We love this combination of light and dark blooms, where the contrast works to provide a blended colour scheme. Try planting these prolific plants en masse, or giving them to someone you love.
Blooming lovely! Picasso Ranunculus are a popular choice as they have a high percentage of fully double flowers. For only a little money and effort, you can enjoy a seemingly endless reward, with an average of six weeks of colour.
From each Picasso Ranunculus tuber you will be able to pick numerous blooms that last a week or more in a vase. We really can`t sing their praises loudly enough!
Plant the Octopus like Ranunculus tubers in autumn, feed well and by the time spring rolls around you will be taken aback with the beauty of these blooms. Ranunculus take around 10-12 weeks from planting to bloom, faster in warmer weather.
Plant Ranunculus into a humus rich, well drained soil. Water to establish and keep moist during active growth. They grow best in a full sun to light shade position. Regular picking or dead heading of the blooms will result in ongoing flowering, if they are left to go to seed, like sweet peas they will stop blooming.
Because Ranunculus tubers are so small and they produce so many flowers you need to fertilise them well so they can perform at their best. Without going too overboard, feed them like you would a teenage boy, plenty and often!
Ranunculus are one of the most rewarding spring bulbs to grow and their bountiful display is absolute value for money.
