Blue elegance.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.
If blue is your colour then you will love the garden effects you can achieve with Corydalis 'Pere David'. Fill nooks and crannies with this shade lover that has attractive soft green, lacy foliage. This true blue perennial that performs well in the cooler parts of the garden.
This stunning botanical treat is a must for collectors. The flowers of Corydalis ‘Pere David’ are an unusual, tubular shape with reflexed spurs. Try planting in rock gardens, alpine gardens or special cool spots or pots in the garden.
As woodland plants, they are best grown in a filtered light to morning sun position. Plant into moist (but not sodden), humus rich, well drained soil. Protect from strong winds. Best in Cool to Temperate climes where the summers don’t get too hot. In ideal conditions they can flower into autumn.
While Corydalis ‘Pere David’ is an evergreen perennial, if it’s not kept moist it can become dormant in the heat/dry of summer – then return when the weather cools in autumn or in very cold climates, the following spring. Like us, they don’t like to be cold and wet, so the soil should be well drained.
They will gradually spread, and can be divided as required in autumn. Protect from slugs and snails who find them delicious. A general purpose fertiliser and a dash of lime in spring is ideal.
