Aquilegia 'Denver Gold'
Go for gold.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.
Aquilegia ‘Denver Gold’ is a strong variety with plenty of flowers. The abundant, bright yellow flowers are quite large, at around 7cm across and float above the foliage like a mass of butterflies. The tall, branching stems suit a middle border planting.
After the initial flowering has finished, cut the stems back to the basal foliage to encourage future blooms – this variety was selected because of its excellent rebloom reliability.
Aquilegia ‘Denver Gold’ is suitable for growing in a full sun to lightly shaded position. Plant them as massed plantings, in garden beds or in large containers. Leave the last flowers of the season to form seed heads for future generations of plants.
To keep your Aquilegia plants healthy, ensure good air flow around the plants to avoid powdery mildew and watch for aphids. Aquilegia should be planted in humus rich, moist, well drained soil.
