The base of the petal is creamy white, blending to a rosy pink at the tip. The blooms open mid season and even have a soft scent. Use these elegant flowers to create a spring masterpiece in your garden.

Potted perfection! Bokassa Tulips are our premium range for potting. We have carefully selected varieties with compact foliage and medium height flowers, these attributes lend perfectly to containers or small garden plantings.

You could add annuals such as Pansies to the pot at the time of planting for a long and colourful display.

Another great idea when potting bulbs is to layer smaller bulbs on top, to form a ‘bulb lasagne’. Choices such as Spring Star Flowers, Miniature Daffodils or Grape Hyacinths will extend the show and add to the colour.

Our Tip: Plant the flat side of the bulb to the edge of the pot, this is where the first leaf will spring from and it will work to soften the edges.

Of course, you shouldn’t limit yourself to just pots, they also grow well in the garden.

Tulips may have a reputation as `Prima Donnas’ but in most cases this is undeserved. When you buy a bulb the flower is already pre-formed, ready to bloom. All you need to do is plant them into well drained soil in a sunny spot, water and enjoy the show.

A simple way to remember when to plant your tulips is Mother`s Day! Around this date is the ideal time as the soil has cooled sufficiently for planting and the really hot autumn days are done and dusted. It doesn’t have to be on the day, it just serves as an easy marker.

All our bulbs are ready to grow; they do not need to be chilled, which is one less thing to do.

When growing tulips in pots, we recommend regular watering as potting mix is perfectly drained, so dries out quickly. In warm weather you may need to water daily to get the most out of them. We also suggest the addition of some fertiliser as they begin to grow to ensure the best show.

IN POTS:
This is our recommendation for the best display, keeping in mind bulbs look best when planted nice and close together.

14cm/6” = 3 bulbs
20cm/8” = 6 bulbs
25cm/10” = 9 bulbs
