Plant at the same level as in the pot with roots spread evenly below the soil surface, space 100-150cm apart.
Soil
Moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. Slightly acid soil 6-6.5 is preferred, regularly adding compost to the soil will help to maintain a good level for the plant, if the leaves yellow often it is because the soil is too alkaline.
Aspect
Full sun to semi shade. Protect from hot drying winds.
Climate
Cool to Sub Tropical
Frost
Hardy
Water
Water to establish, this takes four to six weeks of regular watering, waiting for the roots to penetrate the surrounding soil, then you only need to worry if rainfall is low. Pots require regular watering.
Fertiliser
A light application of a slow release/liquid Camellia/Azalea fertiliser in spring to get the best out of them.
Flowering Time
Autumn to spring
After Flower Care
Prune as required.
Notes
A lovely specimen plant, suitable for hedging. Flowers last well in a vase. Suitable for containers but will require extra care.
