- Fertiliser
- They love humus rich conditions so organic matter is important. A general purpose fertiliser spring/summer will keep them blooming well.

- Dead head regularly to increase bloom time. Remove spent flowers and foliage to tidy OR allow the seed heads to stand over winter for ornamental enjoyment and the birds. Cut back foliage to the ground once it has yellowed.
- Notes
- Beware of slugs and snails when the plant is young. They are rhizomatous, dig and divide as they outgrow their space and to keep their vigour. Plant so it is protected from strong winds or you may need to stake. Any seed that takes won’t be true to type. You can pinch early in the season for shorter plants.
