Twinspur 'Genta Papaya'

Botanical Name: Diascia x barberae
Family: Scrophulariaceae
Plant Type: Semi Evergreen Perennial
Size (HxW): 10-15cm x 20-30cm
Depth & Spacing: Plant at the same level as in the pot, with the roots spread evenly below the soil, space 20-40cm apart.
Soil: Moderately fertile to humus rich, moist, well drained soil is ideal.
Aspect: Full sun to semi shade
Climate: Cool to Sub Tropical
Frost: Tender
Water: Water to establish, it takes plants around 4-6 weeks for their roots to penetrate the surrounding soil and they should be watered every other day or daily during this period. Once established they are dry tolerant though will flower better with moisture in dry times. In pots water regularly to ensure continued flowering.
Fertiliser: A general purpose fertiliser when they begin to bloom, in pots add a liquid fertiliser monthly to keep them blooming.
Flowering Time: Late spring to early autumn.
After Flower Care: Regularly remove spent flowers and foliage to tidy and encourage more blooms. Or give a mid season prune in summer and water and fertilise after you have cut back by about a half.
Notes: As plants may be short lived you can take cuttings for future years. Diascia are wonderful in the garden and work well in mixed container or solo pots or even hanging baskets.
