Magnolia Little Gem

Magnolia ‘Little Gem’ is just that, a gem. It is evergreen ad fits in all sorts of small spaces, and works well in big places too. It’s dense growth means it is terrific as a hedge. It even grows well in pots.
Magnolia ‘Little Gem’ flowers after just a few years of establishment. The plentiful blooms open in spring and summer and are a gorgeous cream shade and have a delightful perfume. The leaves are a handsome deep green, with a fuzzy, rust underside.
Plant Magnolia ‘Little Gem’ in a full sun, to semi shade position. Moderately fertile, to humus rich, well drained soil is ideal. Acidic soils are preferred. If grown in warm climates will require more watering whilst establishing. It is easy to grow and adaptable to a range of conditions. Prune in winter as required. As a mature tree it is broadly conical.
Magnolia ‘Little Gem’ is suitable for growing in large containers, be sure to the keep the water and fertiliser up to them if you choose this growing method. It is commonly known as Bull Bay Magnolia.
