Dark and dramatic glossy foliage teamed with masses of big, beautiful lavender blooms on tall, dark stems. Plectranthus ‘Mona Lavender’ holds the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit so you know it has been put through its paces and impressed the judges.
The Plectranthus Mona Collection are quick to establish, easy care shade plants. Great in gardens, as edging, in patio, coastal, as an understory, containers, or as a houseplant. They don’t spread like the Plectranthus of old.
The masses of blooms crowd the dark leaves from late summer through to frost. The handsome, glossy, serrated foliage is deep green with a dark purple reverse. The plants are compact, upright, well branched and bloom for an impressive period.
A part shade to morning sun position is ideal. They easily tolerate root competition under trees.
Water to establish, then only if rainfall is low, they are dry tolerant once established but will benefit from supplementary water in dry conditions. In very cold climates they can be deciduous; everywhere else can enjoy them year round. Give them a light prune after flowering to keep them nice and tidy.
