This striking lily features nodding, recurved blooms in a rich crimson that instantly draws the eye. Ideal for part-shade locations, it thrives in woodland borders, mixed plantings, or under trees, offering height and structure without overpowering its surroundings. Flowering from November to December, it provides vibrant late spring color when many shade-loving plants are just emerging.
Reaching around 1 metre in height with a spread of about 40cm, it pairs beautifully with ferns, hostas, and soft-textured perennials, creating a layered, naturalistic look. Its elegant, nodding flowers not only captivate with color but also attract pollinators, encouraging lively garden activity.
Preferring well-drained, humus-rich soil, it is low-maintenance yet delivers a bold, enduring presence year after year. The combination of regal crimson petals and classic martagon form lends a sense of drama and sophistication to woodland-inspired gardens, turning shaded corners into captivating focal points filled with color, texture, and life.
