Dazzling golden yellow blooms on upright stems. This easy growing plant offers wonderful, tall, late season colour. This heritage variety is over a century old.
The sunshine yellow petals have red marks on the reverse and a domed red cone, that deepens with age.
In beds and borders, plant Helenium 'Riverton Beauty' in groups for an amazing colour show late summer to autumn. Once the petals fall, the spent flower cones will remain ornamental. The dark green leaves grow along the stems.
Keep the soil moist for best flowers and plant it in a sunny position. The soil needs to be well drained and humus rich is ideal. In summer, remove spent flower heads to encourage more blooms. The flowers grow larger in areas where there are cool nights. The plants will gradually form clumps.
Good companions include Crocosmia, Dahlias such as 'Bishop of Llandaff', red Heleniums or Alstroemerias. In ideal conditions, the colony will gradually increase year after year.
