Peacock Iris
Eye catching.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Stunning white flowers ornamented with an iridescent blue pattern. Each petal has intense colouring, just like the eye of a peacock feather overlaid on a pure white background. The Peacock Iris flowers are quite large, 5-7cm across. The underside of the petals are also white but covered in decorative blue freckles. So from all angles they are really fine-looking blooms.
A popular but hard to find bulb. Moreaeas are actually pretty easy to grow, and they are best left in the ground to naturalise. The foliage and flowers emerge winter to spring and they are dormant through summer. The flower stems grow 20-35cm tall and the narrow foliage grows to 40cm.
Plant Peacock Iris in well moderately rich soil. Humus rich soil is preferred. Grow in full sun to light afternoon shade. Water in and keep moist during active growth and keep relatively dry during dormancy. They are South African natives so hardier than their delicate exterior would suggest.
