Bluebells look amazing planted beneath deciduous trees, in drifts or even pots.

Bluebells are one of the few spring bulbs that tolerate shade. They are native to the edges of woodland areas, and so flourish in dappled light. In cool climates they will also, most obligingly, tolerate full sun.

Plant Bluebells into humus rich, well drained soil, 10-20cm deep and around 10-20cm apart, closer for a more immediate effect. The bulbs are best planted where they can be left to naturalise and multiply gradually. Adding a general purpose fertiliser when they are in bloom will help them on their way.

Bluebell flowers are suitable for cutting.

IN POTS:
This is our recommendation for the best display, keeping in mind bulbs look best when planted nice and close together.

14cm/6” = 5 bulbs
20cm/8” = 10 bulbs
25cm/10” = 15 bulbs
