An unlabelled mixture of white, mauve, and blue flowers, you really can’t go wrong.
Spring Star Flowers are a good choice for first time gardeners or children because the results are simple, fast and rewarding. Tough, enduring and virtually fool proof, these bulbs are real winners. They are easy to plant and can be left in the ground where they will slowly multiply, bringing you years and years of joy.
Grow Spring Star Flowers in pots, the edge of garden beds, along pathways or in rockeries, they can fit in pretty well anywhere. They make a great choice for bulb lasagnes – this is where you layer larger bulbs at the bottom of your planting and then the smaller ones on top. This serves to extend your season and add plenty of colour.
Spring Star Flower blooms open for an impressive amount of time, creating a welcome sight in late winter, then lasting right through to spring. For us the season is as early as July and as late as November, depending on where they are in our garden (shaded ones begin and last one a little later).
Plant them in a sunny to light shade position in any well drained soil. Water in then sit back and wait for spring! The foliage is narrow and forms a handsome clump.
