Size (HxW): 10cm x 5-10cm
Depth & Spacing: Plant 5-7cm deep and the same apart. They are best planted in groups.
Soil: Moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil, They are not too fussy.
Aspect: Full sun to semi shade
Climate: Cool to Mediterranean
Frost: Hardy
Water: Water in to establish, then only if rainfall is low during active growth. Keep relatively dry during dormancy.
Fertiliser: In poor soils, add any well balanced fertiliser in autumn or spring. They are not heavy feeders.
Flowering Time: Early to late spring - they will bloom earlier and longer as they establish.
After Flower Care: No care required! These bulbs are self-sufficient. Foliage will die back naturally and without fuss. You can dig and divide them in autumn as required (when they become overcrowded flowering with diminish), replant at the time or, store in a cool location out of direct sunlight and replant the following autumn.
Notes: They are relatively quick to reproduce, so ideally allow some room so they can naturalise.
