Bluebeard 'Lisaura'
New in 2024.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.
Masses of blue flowers open on the upright stems of this adaptable, deciduous shrub and they remain, looking fabulous for many months.
The blooms open at the perfect time in late summer to autumn when many of the perennials are beginning to fade. The bright flowers have a lovely, soft fragrance that will draw beneficial insects and birds. The soft green leaves also have a fragrance when crushed and are lovely and fine.
Commonly known as Bluebeard, Lisaura looks handsome as part of a mixed shrub border, in a garden bed or as a low hedge. It grows naturally to a nice rounded shape. Beneficial birds and insects adore Caryopteris too.
Plant in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. If the soil is too rich, it may cause quick, stretched growth. Will be dormant in cold climates. You can cut it back to around 10cm from the ground late winter to allow the new spring growth will shine. Water wise, dry tolerant and resistant to pests and disease, this is one tough cookie.
Caryopteris x clandonensis is commonly known as Bluebeard, Blue Mist Shrub and Blue Spirea. It is a cross of Caryopteris incana and Caryopteris mongholica.
