Agastache 'Raspberry Fiesta'

A celebration of colour and triumph over adversity. This plant is tolerant of poor soils, doesn't mind the heat or dry and you can even brew a tea with the leaves. The garden party begins late spring, when the raspberry red flowers begin to open, and it continues up to frost.

This compact plant has strong, upright stems and is suited to both gardens and pots.

Agastache 'Raspberry Fiesta' is fantastic in dry beds, cottage gardens, rock gardens and containers. It is an excellent plant for attracting birds, bees and other beneficial insects to your garden.

Agastache 'Raspberry Fiesta' has fragrant leaves that smell of a blend of aniseed and lemon - they are even edible and can be used in salads or teas. If you enjoy the fragrance, try planting them along paths where you can brush up against them or you could pick a sprig or two and bring indoors to enjoy in a vase.

Standing up to heat and tolerant of poor soils, so long as they are well drained, Agastache are ideal for providing long lasting colour as a dry garden plant and are equally at home in a cottage garden setting. Agastache plants prefer a full sun to light shade position, they need water to establish, for the first 4-6 weeks. Then you only need to worry if rainfall is low. Rabbits rarely show an interest and they aren't troubled by disease.

We recommend dead heading your Agastache flowers regularly during the season to encourage more blooms OR a mid season cut back (don't forget to water and fertilise after) for a rebloom into autumn. It is a good idea to cut your plants back to the ground in winter or early spring to maintain a healthy bush and allow the new growth to shine.

Agastache is also known as Hummingbird Mint or Anise Hyssop. Most plants are endemic to North America/Mexico, this one was cross bred from a Korean form, A. rugosa.
