Angel's Trumpet 'Burnt Orange'

Brugmansia sanguinea ‘Burnt Orange’ is quick to establish and flowers for an age. The plants respond well to pruning, so don’t be afraid to get the shears out and shape it how you would like.

Brugmansias are commonly known as Angel’s Trumpets, for their beauty and heavenly fragrance. They have plenty of ornamental value with their lush foliage and masses of highly fragrant flowers that bloom for months on end.

Brugmansias are fast growing shrubs, or small trees that bring a touch of the exotic to your garden. They will flower for most of the year in warm climates and only stop blooming in autumn and winter in cool climates. The flowers are most fragrant at night; as they are pollinated by moths.

Brugmansia are easy to grow plants and don’t require much care. They will only need pruning if they become too large for their lot, or you would like to shape them. Plant your Brugmansia in full sun to part shade in cool climates. In warmer climates, morning sun or part shade is best.

Brugmansia also grow well in pots, it’s best to choose a large container and fill it with good quality, well draining potting mix. Keep the pot moist during active growth and fertilise regularly. If you live in a cold climate, growing your Brugmansia in pots means you can easily protect them from harsh frosts as they establish. It is a good idea to protect young shrubs from slugs and snails. You should also keep an eye out for Aphids that come in on the warm winds.
