Campanula 'Dahurica'

Highly desirable for colour and form, this plant is a stand out choice.

Clustered Bellflower ‘Dahurica’ stands tall with strong, 50cm stems of bright green, heart shaped leaves. The big flower clusters begin to bloom around November, just as the spring bulbs are finishing, bridging the gap into summer, as they can continue well into December (dead heading will prolong the show).

As the flowers wane, you can cut the stems right back, add some fertiliser then water in, you should have a second flush in just a few weeks. You could also cut early and enjoy them in a vase!

As well as spring bulbs, this cottage garden sweet is at home with a whole host of perennials and a nice companion for grasses, such as the Panicums. You could even grow it underneath your roses.

Plant Clustered Bellflower ‘Dahurica’ in a sunny spot in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. Water in and keep moist during active growth – with moisture it will flower and thrive, and win a place in your heart forever - without it they won’t impress you much. It will slowly spread with rhizomes to form a decent clump that can then be shared or spread out. It is a good idea to protect young plants from slugs and snails who find them very tasty.

Campanulas are commonly known as Bellflowers. Campanula is Latin for little bell. Glomerata refers to the tightly clustered flowers.
