Dicentra 'Gold Heart'
Grown for its beautiful golden foliage. Not as vigorous as the pale green leaf form but worth the effort. Goldheart is a golden-leaved form of the common bleeding heart. This clump-forming, durable, long-lived plant astounds with graceful, fern-like leaves. Nodding, heart-shaped, rose-pink flowers hang in a row on long arching stems in mid- to late spring. The combination of golden foliage on soft peach-colored stems and the rose-pink flowers is truly unique. Since foliage dies back later in the summer, bleeding heart may be planted through a loose ground cover or among later developing perennials such as ferns or dark-leaved snakeroot. Prefers soils rich in organic matter with even moisture
