Pulmonaria 'Diana Clare'

Quick to establish and bloom, Pulmonaria ‘Diana Clare’ is a valuable garden plant. The big, violet blue flowers start late July, August and continue on to summer. These early blooms are adored by hungry bees and gardeners alike!

The handsome, narrow leaves have silver mottling and are a feature in themselves. It has good shade tolerance, though with additional moisture will tolerate some sun.

Pulmonaria ‘Diana Clare’ is a good, low growing border pant or ground cover. Lovely in combination with Epimediums or Winter Roses. The more time the plants have had to establish, the earlier the flowers will open and the longer they will last.

Pulmonaria ‘Diana Clare’ grows best in bright light or morning sun where the foliage will gradually form a nice, thick mat that no weed would dare grow through. They tend to burn in hot afternoon sun.

Pulmonaria is a woodland plant that appreciates humus rich, moist, well drained soil. In mild climates Pulmonaria ‘Diana Clare’ will remain evergreen. In very cold climates, the foliage may go brown and black as winter frosts set in, but this can be easily removed to keep the plant tidy after the threat of frost and the new leaves will grow through in no time.
