Spanish Perennial Foxglove
Large, eye catching florets from tough, dry tolerant plants. This plant has strong perennial tendencies with year round foliage.
Best planted in groups of three or more, their towering form looks good in the middle to front of a bed. Cut the first flower back and fertilise for a second round of blooms. The flowers will last well in a vase.
Plant Spanish Foxgloves in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. They are best grown in full sun to light shade. Water to establish, then you only need worry if rainfall is low, they are more dry tolerant than your average Foxglove.
This plant is a short lived perennial that lasts around three to four years. If you leave the seeds to fall, it can gradually establish a clump. It certainly isn’t invasive, more a wonderful surprise when they pop up.
