Sweet Violet 'Rosina'
Parma Violet ‘Rosina’ has soft, sweet fragrance. Baby to mid pink flowers open in abundance for much of the year. The low growing, evergreen foliage is a garden asset. It will grow almost anywhere and form a nice ground cover. This is another heritage variety that has remained a stalwart in gardens since the late 1800’s.
Parma Violet ‘Rosina’ blooms begin in late autumn and last right through winter and into spring. Dead head the flowers regularly to help sustain the plant.
Plant Parma Violet ‘Rosina’ in a part shade position in humus rich, moist, well drained soil. It will tolerate more sun but you have to keep the moisture up to it. It will not tolerate humidity. Protect your plants from slugs and snails, especially whilst young. It is suitable for growing in containers and hanging baskets. They mingle beautifully with Hellebores, Hostas and the like.
Fertilise Parma Violet ‘Rosina’ in late summer or autumn to keep it blooming at its best.
