Thalictrum Ankum

This elegant perennial is admired for its delicate, finely textured foliage and graceful sprays of soft lavender flowers that seem to hover above the plant in summer. The airy blooms are carried on slender stems, creating a light, transparent effect that adds movement and sophistication to the garden.

Its upright growth habit makes it ideal for the middle or back of mixed borders, where it can weave effortlessly through neighbouring plants without appearing heavy or dense. The finely divided foliage provides attractive texture throughout the growing season and complements both bold and delicate planting schemes.

Thriving in moist, well-drained soil, it performs best in a sunny or lightly shaded position where its graceful form can be fully appreciated. It combines particularly well with roses, salvias, ornamental grasses and other cottage-garden favourites.

The soft flower colour and airy habit help create a relaxed, naturalistic feel, making it equally at home in contemporary, cottage and meadow-style plantings. Long-lived and rewarding, it brings height, elegance and a sense of lightness to summer garden displays.
