Viola 'Freckles'

Parma Violet ‘Freckles’ has handsome, white blooms with a smattering of purple freckles. They will gradually spread forming a lovely little ground cover or rockery plant in a shaded spot.

Parma Violet ‘Freckles’ blooms begin in spring and last into summer, becoming dormant when the weather cools. Deadhead the flowers regularly to help sustain the plant and encourage more blooms. They are edible and a lovely decoration for cakes.

Plant Parma Violet ‘Freckles’ in a part shade position in humus rich, moist, well drained soil. It will tolerate more sun but you have to keep the moisture up to it. It will not tolerate humidity. Protect your plants from slugs and snails, especially whilst young. It is suitable for growing in containers and hanging baskets. They mingle beautifully with Hellebores, Hostas and the like.

Fertilise Parma Violet ‘Freckles’ with the new foliage to keep it blooming at its best, especially if grown in a pot.
