Winter Roses HGC Collection
Deep pink, blushing red petals with an explosion of cream to gold stamens. 30-50 x 30-50cm. Filtered light. Cool to Med. Flowers L Aut to Spr Deep pink, blushing red petals punctuated with an explosion of golden stamens.
Flowering from as early as May and lasting into spring, these new Hellebores will earn their place in the garden. A novel cross of H. x hybridus (Winter Rose) and H. niger (Christmas or Lenten Rose), they produce outward facing flowers on tall stems above the compact, deep green foliage.
Simple to plant, hardy and easy grow, Winter Roses will flower for decades without fuss.
Almost indestructible and certainly indispensible, Winter Roses are ideal for dressing up the shady spots in your garden. They provide a long lasting floral display, from winter to spring and their handsome, evergreen foliage remains a year round feature.
Winter Roses, or Hellebores are durable and versatile in the garden. They thrive beneath deciduous trees, in filtered light or part shade (they don't tend to flower as well in really heavy shade). They will even grow in containers. The plentiful, enduring flowers measure around 5-8cm across.
The blooms open so freely there is plenty for picking - a real boon for winter. A nice way to display them is floating in a bowl as a table centrepiece.
HGC stands for Helleborus Gold Collection.
HGC Winter Ballet Hellebore Collection, one of each variety separately labelled. Includes HGC Winter Ballet ‘Lenia’, HGC Winter Ballet ‘Leila’, HGC Winter Ballet ‘Liara’ and HGC Spring Promise ‘Lily’.
