Lavender Lavinnova

Botanical Name: Lavandula hybrid
Family: Lamiaceae
Plant Type: Semi Evergreen Perennial
Size (HxW): 20-70cm x 40-90cm
Depth & Spacing: Plant at the same level as in the pot with roots spread evenly below the soil surface, space 40-90cm apart, see plant label.
Soil: Moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil.
Aspect: Full sun to semi shade
Climate: Cool to Sub Tropical
Frost: Hardy
Water: Water to establish, this takes 4-6 weeks of regular watering, waiting for the roots to penetrate the surrounding soil, then you only need to worry if rainfall is low, they are impressively dry tolerant.
Fertiliser: A light application of a slow release/liquid fertiliser late winter to early spring is ideal.
Flowering Time: Spring to autumn
After Flower Care: Remove spent flowers to encourage more during the season. Or cut back by half after the first flower flush in summer, then fertilise and water in to enjoy repeat flowering into autumn.
Notes: Cut back hard in late winter/early spring to leave room for the fresh spring foliage. Flowers suitable for picking and can be dried. Suitable for pots – but they will need to be watered more regularly than if you were growing them in the garden as potting mix is perfectly drained so dries out quickly.
