Artemisia 'Sea Foam' is a sensational plant for introducing texture and foliage variety to your garden. It thrives in a hot spot, it doesn't mind poor soils and once settled in is nice and dry tolerant. A great feature through winter.
The unusual, curlicues of silver foliage forms a handsome mound. It is useful in rock gardens, in borders (especially with ebony foliage) or as a little ground cover. It will flower, but they can become lanky so you may prefer to prune them off.
Artemisia is otherwise known as mugwort, wormwood and curlicue sage. One of the best things about it is the rabbits won't touch it!
Grow Artemisia 'Sea Foam' in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil (the roots tend to rot in boggy soils). Choose a sunny spot. It won't tolerate humidity. Cut back to around half in spring to maintain vigour and promote compact growth.
