A hard working, darling annual with fragrant, spider like blooms for months on end.
Cleomes are rarely seen in Australia and it is a shame. They offer plenty of garden value with great foliage and abundant flowers. This variety is well branched, with nice, dense, spine free foliage to around 60cm. The flowers open from late spring right into autumn and are great for picking.
Cleome ‘Clio Magenta’ will thrive in pots or gardens. Grow in a moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. It is nice and upright with strong stems.
The flowers are sterile, so last a long time, and all those fabulous beneficial insects love them.
