Candelabra Primula
Sensational.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Primulas are something special. The blooms are inspiring, the tiers of floral whorls open late spring to summer. From deep orange buds, each golden flower unfurls to around 2cm across. Up to seven whorls open on the tall stem, and in ideal conditions each plant can bear multiple stems. A vigorous, long lived variety.
The oval, textured, upright foliage grows to 30cm and forms a lush, semi evergreen rosette. Candelabra Primula holds the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit for its reliability and vigour.
Plant in a cool, part shade position that is sheltered from the hot afternoon sun. In the garden, plant into humus rich, moist, well drained soil. In pots use a good quality potting mix. Ensure there is good air flow around the plants. Water to establish and keep moist during active growth – they are endemic to China where they grow by the side of streams – which makes them suitable for bog gardens but equally adaptable to garden settings if they are watered. The seeds are viable and will self sow or can be collected.
Other common names include Bulley’s Primula, Bulley’s Primrose or Candelabra Primrose.
