Boronia Dark Prince
New in 2019.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

A home grown hero with masses of fabulously fragrant blooms over fine, upright foliage. The strong, citrus scent is sensational and surrounds the plant like a fragrant cloud, both the flowers and the foliage carry the fragrance. The little bells are a rich, mahogany brown reverse with a glowing gold inside. The blooms begin late winter and continue on into spring. They are even good for picking.
Boronia ‘Dark Prince’ is an improved form of the much loved Brown Boronia, offering larger, more prolific blooms on more compact, better branched stems. Brown Boronia is native to Western Australia, between Perth and Albany, they are grown commercially to produce essential oils.
Boronia ‘Dark Prince’ is great in the garden and also grows well in pots.
Best grown in a moist, well drained soil with morning sun and protection from hot afternoon sun and drying winds. They also grow well in filtered light. Water in and keep just moist as they establish. It is a good idea to add a mulch through summer to keep the root zone cool. Boronias are well known for being quick to grow but a little short lived, but with a little love and attention you can get great value from them. Keeping the roots cool and just moist as well as a light prune after flowering will support longevity.
