Brugmansias are commonly known as Angel’s Trumpets, for their beauty and heavenly fragrance. They have high ornamental value with lush foliage and masses of fragrant flowers that bloom for months on end. Brugmansias are fast growing shrubs, or small trees that bring a touch of the exotic to your garden. They will flower for most of the year in warm climates and only stop blooming in autumn and winter in cool climates, or if they dry out.
Brugmansia are easy to grow plants and don’t require much care. They will only need pruning if they become too large for their lot, or you would like to shape them into a tree.
Plant in full sun to part shade in cool climates. In warmer climates, morning sun or part shade is best.
They also grow well in pots, choose a large container and fill it with good quality, well draining potting mix. Keep the pot moist during active growth and add a liquid fertiliser every other week. If you live in a cold climate, growing your Brugmansia in pots means you can easily protect them from harsh frosts as they establish.
