A great filler or potted plant with bushy foliage that is engulfed in pink, spider like blooms for many months. The petals are shaded in light to dark pink tones.
Cleomes are rarely seen in Australia and it is a shame. They offer plenty of garden value with great foliage and abundant flowers. They are dry tolerant and don’t mind the heat. This variety is well branched, with nice, dense, spine free foliage to around 60cm. The flowers open from late spring right into autumn and are great for picking.
Cleome ‘Clio Magenta’ will thrive in pots or gardens. Grow in a moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. It is nice and upright with strong stems.
The flowers are sterile, so last a long time, and all those fabulous beneficial insects love them.
