A stunning, evergreen, miniature orchid with masses of cascading golden blooms (3cm) in spring. The pendent racemes grow up to 30cm long with up to 20 blooms on each stem. The pseudobulbs have produce flat, single leaf in mid green. 2-3 years to flower.
Dendrobium lindleyi looks great in baskets or hanging baskets or affixed to bark, or the crevices or rocks and trees. This is a tetrapoid and the flowers are wide with good substance to the petals.
Dendrobium Orchids are also known as Sydney Rock Orchids and can be easily grown through most of Australia as they are tolerant of a wide range of temperatures. In cold climates they will need some protection from winter rains. They require filtered light. Water and fertilise regularly in spring and summer. Keep them on the dry side in autumn and winter, but not so dry the canes shrivel.
