Ligularia Panda
A must for moist soils.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.
Dramatically deep purple and green foliage for a moist, shaded spot in the garden. Rarely seen, these plants are fantastic in the garden. The tall flower stems bear bright, yellow daisy like flowers summer to autumn.
The flowers open on branched stems, each bloom stretches up to 8cm across. They make great additions to the vase, as do the leaves.
Grow in moderately fertile to humus rich soil. Will grow in a sunny spot with sufficient moisture but is happier in shade or part shade. Moist soils are not a problem for these easy going plants, who thrive beside streams and ponds or bog gardens. They will also grow in any garden bed as long as they have sufficient moisture. Water to establish and keep moist during active growth. In warm weather they may sulk after a hot day, but add water, then the cool night air will have them perky again in no time. If growing in pots ensure you water well. You can cut it back at the end of the growing season to allow the new growth to shine.
