The gorgeous, crimson flowers open in whorls on tall, narrow stems. There are up to 6 whorls on a stem and up to 25 can open on each. The flowers average 2cm across.
The mid green, crinkly leaves are oval to broadly spoon shaped, growing up to 25cm long.

Plant in a cool, part shade position that is sheltered from the hot afternoon sun. In the garden, plant into humus rich, moist, well drained soil. In pots use a good quality potting mix.
