A gorgeous little evergreen ground cover for shade. The mid to dark green leaves are the perfect backdrop for the fresh white blooms.
The flowers are divine picked for a tussy mussy so you can enjoy the sweet perfume indoors.
Viola blooms begin in late autumn/winter and keep on to spring. Dead head the flowers regularly to help sustain the plant.
Plant Violas in a part shade position in humus rich, moist, well drained soil. It will tolerate more sun in cool climes, but you have to keep the moisture up to it. It will not tolerate humidity. Protect your plants from slugs and snails, especially whilst young. It is suitable for growing in containers and hanging baskets. It will spread gradually through underground stolons at a snails pace so there will be more to enjoy, but it won’t become a burden.
