This charismatic rambler will happily fill a pot or hanging, tumbling gently from the sides. It is also a winner in rock crevasses or sheltered spots as a ground cover. The bright, soft foliage screams out to be caressed and will grow to form a dense covering. You will be besotted with its beauty in no time.
A great choice for mixed succulent plantings where it will form a nice low cover. Bright yellow flowers form at the ends of the stems spring to summer. They form new branches easily. Oooh just another thought great in fairy gardens.
SIZE (HxW): 10-15cm x 20-100cm
I SEE THE LIGHT: It will grow well in a range of light conditions. Indoors bright, indirect light is ideal. In bright light the leaves will develop a red blush. Ok in full sun with sufficient water.
WATER NEEDS: Low, water well, then allow the soil to almost dry out before watering again. They are dormant throughout winter so won’t need much water in the cool weather. Over summer more watering is recommended.
I WILL SURVIVE: These plants are so easy, they pretty much look after themselves. In pots ensure you choose a cactus/succulent potting mix for best results as it offers the sharp drainage they need. Choose a pot with drainage holes to ensure they don’t end up sitting in water. They will grow larger in the garden when allowed to ramble, in pots their growth will be more limited. Outside protect from frost.
Use a diluted, liquid fertiliser in spring to keep them happy and healthy. They aren’t heavy feeders so will forgive you if you forget.
