Gymnocalycium Rotundulum
A prickly character.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

A tidy little sphere shape with ribbed form, punctuated with faint mahogany bands. The deep olive green colouration looks amazing in white pots.
Rosy pink to white flowers appear at any time, each around 4cm across.
The longer you have it, the more stems that will grow, gradually filling the pot. It is slower to multiply than many cactus and can also be increased through seed.
SIZE (HxW): 5cm x 5-10cm
I SEE THE LIGHT: Choose a brightly lit position out of the hot afternoon sun (which may burn the leaves or damage the roots in the pot). If grown in artificial light they will need around 12 hours a day.
I NEED A DRINK: Low water needs, water lightly then allow the soil to dry out before watering again. You are more likely to kill it with kindness than neglect. They are winter dormant so need very little water at this time.
I WILL SURVIVE: In pots use a well drained potting mix specially formulated for succulents and cactus. They aren’t huge fans of humidity, so it is best to ensure they have good air flow. Repot annually to encourage fast growth, or allow them plod along as they are.
You don’t need to fertilise them very often or much, a diluted liquid feed in spring is all they need and they will of course forgive if you forget.
