Stunning, open blooms with plenty of colour. The Deep pink (not Purple as the song title name would imply) softens as it matures which allows the deeper eye to shine. There is a light smattering of freckles dancing across the petals. Each bloom is around 10cm across.
AOA Lilies are a triple cross of an Asiatic with an Oriental, then another Asiatic. The result is colourful, open flowers, upward facing flowers that last well. They have a slight perfume on a warm day, but it is far from overpowering. This new breeding has created resilient, vigorous cultivars that are a cinch to grow.
Simply plant, your A.O.A. Lilies, fertilise and enjoy. Leave them in the ground to establish and they will bring you years of joy. Choose a humus rich, well drained soil in a sunny location. They will appreciate afternoon shade in warmer climates. Keep moist while in growth and fertilise at the start of the season and again as the flowers are finishing. Mulching over the summer will help maintain moisture levels in the soil.
Real conversation pieces in the garden, these A.O.A. Lilies are avant-garde Lilies of distinction! The petals look like they have been painted by a master and were thus named in homage for the Artist who wrote himself into history by breaking all the laws of colour to create genius. They will take 10-14 weeks to flower.
