Crocosmia 'Okavango'
New in 2021.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Big flower heads in bold, salmon orange shades crowd the upright, sword like foliage. Quick to establish with a long and impressive show. They are a wonderful plant and forget option.
Crocosmia ‘Okavango’ was bred by plantsman Bob Brown in the UK, his main aim in breeding is for unusual, easy to grow flowering plants. This variety is a bit slower to form offsets than the old fashioned varieties so they won’t run rampant! Divide every 3-4 years.
A great plant choice for structure and colour, this Crocosmia toughs out dry conditions and loves the sunshine.
Crocosmia flowers are good for picking and have a decent vase life. What is more, the plants are virtually pest and disease free as well as being easy care.
Crocosmia is quick to establish and will gradually spread into a healthy clump. They are low maintenance and will prosper for many years. The bulbs can be left to naturalise and can be divided to increase stocks every two to three years.
Plant in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Water in, then they become dry tolerant once established. They are also known as Montbretia. The dried foliage smells like saffron when it is crushed.
