An all time favourite. Full yellow blooms. The best trumpet daffodil for cool climates. Yellow never looked so good!
Great in the garden, these Garden Daffodils are easy to grow and can be left in the ground to naturalise. We have trialled and tested these varieties to ensure they are good and hardy, and we are confident of their quality. They can be relied upon to produce masses of reliable spring colour for years to come. Dont let the name throw you off, they can also be grown in containers!
Daffodils are easy, they like plenty of sun and a well drained soil. Plant as many as space permits!
It is a good idea to prepare your soil by digging through some well rotted manure a few weeks prior to planting. This will improve drainage and add nutrients to the soil, giving your Garden Daffodils a good start.
Plant Garden Daffodil bulbs three times as deep as the bulb is high with the pointy end up. The depth will protect them from heat and soil erosion and provide strength for the stem. Space your Garden Daffodils 10-20cm apart, more if you are leaving the bulbs in to naturalise.
Once the flowering has finished you can remove the flower stem. Allow the foliage to remain until it has yellowed. The Daffodil foliage gathers energy and nutrients at this time for next years blooms. Keep relatively moist during this time and add a little general purpose fertiliser. Daffodils like Potash and slow release brands which are low in nitrogen (this encourages more flowers and less foliage).
