(13B) Chinese Lantern Lily
Masses of bright orange flowers from hard to find bulbs.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

They require a bit of extra love and care than most plants, but come summer the slender stems will be covered in bright orange lantern shaped flowers. This is a garden worthy plant. Sandersonias can bloom for up to six weeks and each oddly shaped tuber has the ability to produce two stems.
Plant your Sandersonias where they can be supported in growth, in a protected site. They have a similar growth habit to Gloriosa Lilies. They are endemic to South African grasslands.
The flowers colour from the base of the stem to the top. They make excellent cut flowers and will last up to 4 weeks in a vase. However when you cut the flowers the bulb will not come back as well next season. Left to flower and looked after, the tubers should double each year.
They are susceptible to disease in humid weather so keep the fungicide handy. Sandersonia plants should also be protected from slugs and snails.
